Vintage Wedding

We just received these photos from another DIY inspired ceremony and reception at the King Plow. We must give huge kudos to both the bride and groom on this one. From start to finish they had such unique, interesting ideas and their personal touches really made an impact on the event. Let’s start with their vision- not your typical “vintage” definition. Their inspiration for vintage came from the city streets. Think newspaper boys, street carts, old bikes.

The aisle was lined with groupings of clear and antique blue mason jars with rose petals leading to the altar where it extended out to form a circle. Swags of string lights hung low added the perfect amount of lighting.





The bride fashioned a place card holder out of an antique wood crate and strung vintage style paper from clothes pins.



Guest seating comprised of Two long estate tables (set at an angle) covered in ivory solid linens with a runner of burlap. Clear and antique blue mason jars in varying heights and metal cans held single variety arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, and spray roses in shades of green and ivory. Additional blue mason jars with jute detail provided a warm glow.

As the groom was a chef, napkins were fashioned from chef towels tied with jute.



The windows were lined with additional clear and vintage blue glass mason jars with candles.



A menu was fashioned from a chalkboard- one of my favorite details!



Desserts were displayed on an antique table complete with tins, distressed wood risers, mason jars with loose roses and a sign that read “love you like a fat kid loves cake”!

DIY Inspired Ceremony

We always love working with brides with a vision! This was a DIY bride who was looking for an eclectic, feminine, vintage feel which was representative of her creative, laid back personality! This was achieved through an infusion of textures, mediums and fibers in shades of muted rose, ivory, grey, lilac and blue. The ceremony (all guests standing) took place on a beautiful day in the courtyard outside of Studio 887 at the King Plow Arts Center. Coffee stained lanterns, ribbon, fabric runners and mason jars hung from the trees and building and fresh flowers and candles accented the outside tables. The altar was fashioned from ivory panels with free flowing ribbons and framed by lanterns and planters. Bouquets included roses, spray roses, fabric accents and dusty miller.
