Monkeys at the Wedding!

We had a great time working with this bride and groom; they were truly "out of the box" and looking for the "wow" factor and fun elements that expressed their quirky personalites.

The bar was quite important to the overall party so we created this 14' center chandelier that was suspended in the center. The top of the structure was covered with hand-made flowers (our bride found much inspiration at Anthropolgie!), so our our team had fun with all kinds of blue and white paper. One side of the bar also served as a built-in escort card display where nuts and bolts were used to stand up the cards. And, yes, I said "nuts and bolts"...the groom likes to tinker in his man-space with his motorcycles, so they were the perfect element in color and sytle. As a matter of fact, silver and chrome were both common themes throughout the decor.

The plated/seated dinner was stylish and fashionable, staring with blue linens and round tables. We used a stripe that added a lovely texture to the table (custom-made by "I Do Linens"). We are huge fans of estate tables to add drama to the room.

Additional dramatic touches included a row of pedestal glasses holding floating candles and gorgeous cobalt blue water glasses (used on all the tables) from Event Rentals Unlimited. Also, check out the fabulous white, bird napkin rings holding the deep blue napkins. We simply love using these napkin rings...they are fun but very clean and sophisticated. We found them last year at one of our favorite stores for inspiration, Z Gallerie. So, we bought all 230 of them!

Every place setting started with a large, square white charger and beautiful, square menu cards (from "Inviting Ideas") rested in the center of each.

Clusters of blue hydrangeas finished off the center of the table. A stunning table setting will let your guests know that you have given a great amount of thought and time preparing for your guests to totally enjoy their evening with you.

So what about those monkeys?

The wedding cake (by Kelly Lovett) was a focal point of the room so it was absolutely necessary to guard the cake. Hence the monkeys. :) Plus, they were a big hit! All night long, guests were getting their picture taken with them. And check out the table linen...another creation by "I Do Linens"...with fabulous florrettes cascading off the bottom--just delicious!
